Samurai — armour you can assemble with your hands.

A touchscreen exhibit that lets visitors build a full suit of samurai armour piece by piece, with annotated context — placed beside the real armour cases.

02Problem

NCMA wanted visitors to slow down at the samurai armour cases. Static labels weren't holding people.

03Approach

We modelled four armour configurations, built a step-by-step assembly UI, and authored short context cards for each piece. The interaction is the lesson — every hardware part of the armour has a reason.

04Outcome

Dwell time at the case set tripled vs. the prior installation.
